SLIPSHOD

Slipshod is an artist management company based in Nashville, Tennessee and founded by Norm Parenteau in 2008.  Slipshod currently manages the careers of Parker Millsap and Old Crow Medicine Show.  

Slipshod Management was an artist management company specializing in the Americana Music genre. It was founded by Norm Parenteau in Nashville, Tennessee in 2008. Norm started his management career at DS Management in 1995 handling day-to-day for Alison Krauss and assisted in the development of Gillian Welch’s career.  During his time at DS he also worked on the O Brother, Where Art Thou? film and soundtrack and the Down From the Mountain concert and soundtrack.

In 2001, Norm began working at Acony Records – the record label created by Gillian Welch and David Rawlings.  He served as head of marketing and promotion for the label.  While working at Acony Records, Norm discovered and began managing the career of Old Crow Medicine Show -- popularly known for their multi-platinum hit song “Wagon Wheel.”

In 2008, Norm left Acony Records to form his own management company – Slipshod Management where he continued managing Old Crow Medicine Show (2002 – 2018), The Felice Brothers (2007 – 2009) and Parker Millsap (2014 – 2019).  During that time Norm also mentored long-time employees Holland Nix and Jon Grau.  Jon Grau currently manages Parker Millsap and can be contacted at Jon@thisismanagement.net.

In December of 2019 Norm retired from the music industry leaving Nashville after 27 years to return to his native Rhode Island.  He can still be contacted at Norm@slipshodmusic.com.
